Your municipality's utility service, or Romande Energie. Northern Vaud has several grid operators depending on the municipality. The letter you received bears the name of yours: that is who we send the safety report to.
The periodic inspection under the OIBT (the Swiss Low-Voltage Installations Ordinance) is not a sales pitch: the grid operator requests it, and you are free to choose the inspection body that carries it out. How it works.
For simple premises — storage unit, shop, hair salon, office — the flat rate depends on the floor area, according to our published price list. Heavier installations, such as a medical practice or a workshop with several panels, fall outside the price list and are quoted separately. Either way, the amount is stated before the visit, never after.
Detached houses, farms renovated in stages and craft zones: homes fall under the 20-year cycle, workshops and storage premises under the 10-year cycle, and older installations in Schéma III (SH3) move to 5 years. Solar PV is spreading across the region's roofs: a new PV installation calls for an independent acceptance inspection — including orphan installations left without validation.
The OIBT and the NIBT (Swiss low-voltage installation standard) are federal: our authorisation is valid throughout Switzerland.
