Private schools · boarding schools

One campus, six buildings,
six different deadlines.

A school must be re-inspected every 5 years — not every 20 like a home — under the OIBT (the Swiss Low-Voltage Installations Ordinance). On a campus, each building has its own date depending on what it is used for, and the reports sit in three different binders. We draw up the consolidated 10-year schedule, and we only come in during the holidays.

EVERY 5 YEARS

The rhythm of schools

Classrooms, boarding house, sports hall, dining hall, and anything on Schéma III (SH3) wiring: 5 years. Administration and staff housing follow other rhythms.

HOLIDAYS

Never during lessons

Summer for the large volumes; February, Easter or October for the rest. It is written into the quote — it is not a favour.

10 YEARS

The schedule, free of charge

One table: the building, what it is used for, the date of the last known report, the deadline, the estimated amount per year. Delivered in 10 days, confidential, no obligation.

Emergency lighting in dormitories and corridors

The light units above the doors and along the escape routes: at night, in a boarding school, they are the only light if the power goes out. They must be tested and recorded in a logbook — almost no school keeps one, often because nobody ever told them to.

Free of charge: your campus schedule, delivered in 10 days

Send us the addresses of your buildings and the latest reports. You receive the complete table: building, use, deadline, estimated amount per year. We build the full inventory of your estate from your own documents — and can even complete it beyond your list.

Frequently asked questions

Our facilities manager already looks after the buildings.

They stay in charge and will be our only point of contact: their keys, their rules, their hours. The inspection itself, however, has to be carried out by someone with no link to an installer — that is the law.

No work during school time — is that possible?

That is our rule too, and it is written into the quote. Summer for the buildings that take time; February, Easter and October for the rest.

We are tenants. Isn't it the owner's job to deal with this?

For part of it, yes. For the converted annex, the emergency lighting and the changes made since you moved in, it is the school that operates the premises — and the school that is answerable.
