Installation abandoned by
its installer? We take it over.

Some companies sell installations, never finish them or deliver them without official validation — then close down. We regularly take over this kind of orphan installation and bring it back into compliance with the grid operator (electricity distributor).

01

The finding

Installation fitted by unqualified, untrained fitters, never declared to the grid operator, never validated. The errors are often numerous.

02

The takeover

An authorised electrical installer must agree to take over the installation as if it were their own. We coordinate the process and can pass on the names of companies that work this way.

03

The validation

Installation notification, corrections, final inspection by the installer, then acceptance inspection by an independent body — us. Your file is put back in order.

The regularisation procedure, step by step

① An authorised electrical installer agrees to take over the installation in their own name.
② They file the installation notification with the grid operator.
③ They inspect the installation and correct the errors — often numerous.
④ They carry out their final inspection.
⑤ An independent body — us — carries out the acceptance inspection. The file is closed with the grid operator.

The budget to plan for

Expect between CHF 1,500 and 2,000 for the administrative steps and the two inspections (final + acceptance) — not including the cost of correcting defects, which depends on the condition of the installation. It is the price of the original installer's carelessness, not yours: our role is to keep it to the strict minimum.

Before ordering: the three checks that prevent all this

Check the company's references carefully before ordering and paying deposits.

GRID OPERATOR

Ask your grid operator

They know which companies declare their work properly. One tip: choose a company your grid operator knows.

ESTI

Check the authorisation

Any company that installs must appear on the ESTI (Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations) register of installation authorisations. Not on the register = don't sign.

REPUTATION

Read the reviews

Google reviews and local references complete the picture. A serious company has nothing to hide.

Not just solar: "ordinary" electrical work too

More and more unauthorised electricians do not declare their work. It comes to light on the day of an accident, or at the next periodic inspection: the installation is supposed to be 20 years old, and we find equipment from our own generation in it — sometimes with a great many defects, to be fixed and redone. Regularisation follows the same procedure as above, and the longer it waits, the more it costs.

Frequently asked questions

My installer disappeared before validation. Am I at fault?

The owner remains responsible for their installation towards the grid operator — which is why it has to be regularised. But the process is well marked out: takeover by an authorised installer, corrections, final inspection, then acceptance inspection. We coordinate the whole thing.

How much does it cost?

Between CHF 1,500 and 2,000 for the administrative steps and the two inspections (final inspection by the installer taking over + independent acceptance inspection), excluding the cost of correcting defects.

Can you recommend an installer for the takeover?

We do not sell work and earn nothing on other people's work — that is the condition of our independence. But we can pass on two or three authorised companies that accept takeovers, and the choice remains yours.

How do I know whether my past work was declared?

Ask your grid operator what is on file for your installation. If in doubt, an inspection takes stock: we list what needs to be regularised, and the file is put back in order.
